Pic from 2 days ago in Sebastian, Florida

Here's a good one for y'all - white pelicans - winter visitors from farther south.  We have lots of brown pelicans, but this time of year the white ones come up as "snowbirds."  Pretty little creatures they are, and can be rather friendly at times--especially if you have a fishhead!

This photo was taken at the boat launch at the end of Main Street, Sebastian, on the dock.  Lots of stooping, laying down, calling out to them, and holding the camera above the water to get close.  Such beauty, such fun.  Photography ... one of the best times you can have all by yourself, and every photo you take is one-of-a-kind,  and yours to enjoy forever.  (unless of course you happen to delete it from your hard drive, which I have done on occasion).

Happy to share this with you.  Enjoy.

FINALLY! Free Pictures for Artists to Paint!

Judy Burgarella Painting Bob Barbour - YouTube Video

Welcome to my new blog for artists. Every picture on this blogsite is free for your use and your pleasure.  I have spent many an hour on the internet looking for images for inspiration to paint, but mostly to no avail as everything seems to be copyrighted.  I have contacted several of the owners of photos for permission to paint them, and all demanded payent. There were other artists I knew that ignored the copyright and painted the images anyway out of frustration.  Since I have thousands of beautiful photographs that I have taken over the years and have recently come upon a private collection given to me, I have decided to share them with the world of artists.  This site is mainly for artists, however I have no control of whomever else takes advantage of these images.  The private collection contains thousands of slides, all of which I must convert to digital in order to upload them here.  As I find the time to convert them they will become available to you all.  To see some of my own paintings visit www.burgarellaart.com, or www.artbyburgarella.blogspot.com.

I hereby release all rights to these photographs, and hope to see some of them painted and enjoyed by artists everywhere.  If you have created a work of art from any of the images on this blog, kindly post in the comments section.

I will write a little about the ones that I have or remember information about.  Otherwise, for expediting purposes they will just be uploaded and left for you to use. As I go forward I may find a convenient or more interesting way to group them.  Over the last 8 years I have been living in Florida, so have lots of tropical photos, which may not interest some of you, so I will eventually mix some other regions with my tropicals, as I dig into my old New England and beyond photos.   Also in the slides I have there will be photographs from all over the world.  I can't wait!  So here goes!

Well artists, that's all for now.  I hope you soon see something worth painting ... these above are from my personal collection, and as I perused the files on my computer I see that there are plenty of worthy pics.  So glad to share them with other artists.  More to come when time permits, but till then ... BE INSPIRED!
